Demo status (October 27, 2026): there is no public demo to download. The official FAQ plans a backer demo before launch. Any site offering a World of Anterra download today is a scam.
The Only Real Demo Plan
The single official statement on a demo is the game’s FAQ: Kickstarter backers get demo access before launch. That is the whole plan as published — no public demo, no open beta, no Steam “playtest” listing exists. The Fireside session above is where the developers have discussed development progress with backers directly.
The campaign’s success — CA$397,766 from 5,957 backers — is effectively the guest list. If you backed at a tier that included the demo, delivery details will come through Kickstarter updates and the official Discord.
Download Scams: Read This Part
Because the game is anticipated and unavailable, fake “demo downloads” will surface — free-game sites, key generators, “alpha test” invites. All of them are fraudulent or malicious. The safe rule is absolute: the only legitimate World of Anterra files will come via the official Steam page and official 81monkeys channels. Nothing else exists today.
To be ready the moment real access opens: wishlist the game (see the Steam guide), join the official Discord, and follow the Early Access plan.
