Quick status (checked October 27, 2026): Steam lists a 2026 release window for World of Anterra. The exact day is not announced. An Early Access phase is planned, and the official FAQ promises a backer demo before launch. Treat any specific date you see elsewhere as speculation.

The Verified World of Anterra Release Timeline

What we know comes straight from official channels, and it is deliberately short: the Steam store page marks World of Anterra as coming soon with a planned 2026 release year, while the developers at 81monkeys have not committed to a calendar date. The game’s own FAQ describes an Early Access phase planned for 2026, followed by the full launch. Nothing in any official source names a month or day.

That restraint is worth matching. Dates you may see on aggregator sites or social posts are almost always auto-generated placeholders. When 81monkeys announce a real date, it will appear on the Steam page and the official Discord first — and this page the same day.

The Signals Pointing at 2026

Several official milestones show how far along the project is:

  • Kickstarter completed: 5,957 backers pledged CA$397,766 — about 306% of the CA$130,000 goal.
  • Steam wishlists: the developers celebrated passing 150,000 wishlists in a Steam community post on August 24, 2026.
  • Ongoing development: official devlogs cover tutorials, the world map, archery, breakables, hunger and rations, and character customization — the systems are being built and shown now.
  • Trailers: two official trailers are published on the 81monkeys channel, the latest (“Let them cook”) released May 29, 2026.

None of this dates the launch, but together they show an active project closing in on its 2026 window. See the Kickstarter records and the Trailer 2 breakdown for the full stories.

What Happens Before Launch

The official FAQ sketches the road to release: an Early Access phase planned for 2026, and a demo for Kickstarter backers ahead of that. That order — demo for backers, Early Access, full release — is the only schedule 81monkeys have publicly committed to. Our Early Access guide tracks what each stage should include, and the demo page explains who gets in.
